The Green Flag/Green Faith Project

The Green Flag/GreenFaith pilot project completed its first year with great success.  The environmental leadership program, a collaborative effort between CHEJ’s Green Flag program and GreenFaith, aims to educate children in faith-based schools about environmental issues and empower teachers, parents, and community leaders to protect children’s health.  The Green Flag/GreenFaith program looks forward to the 2007-2008 school year, with expanded vision and a continued dedication to promoting an ethic of stewardship.  The schools from the pilot program will be models for other schools to follow.

Under the direction of program coordinator Stacey Kennealy, six faith-based schools in New Jersey made significant, environmentally-conscious changes and undertook innovative efforts towards environmental education.

The Green Flag/GreenFaith Program would like to congratulate our new schools for the 2007-2008 school year!
